Gordon Matta-Clark (1943-1978)
Following yesterday's discussion of format. While the fractured arrangements of Matta-Clark's collages have a relationship with the violent cutting of his installations it's interesting that often what threads them together, like his projects, is the void, the absence. Format of the work informing the format of the presentation.
Though he had studied architecture some of Matta-Clark's first conceptual experiments began with cooking (polaroids and gold in oil)
