Visualising interior space
Jasper White - Sheds
Jasper White has looked closely at the Australian art of (male) shed making , man caves, a type of extension of customised cars and sports bars. These wunderkammers are presented as abstracted quilts with areas of rhythm and order, surgically flattened by the lighting, the vague spatial dimensions and the depth of field. Vibrant yet empty White says he sees these images as 'portraits in the purest sense' . They also work as reflections of the landscape.
